Yu Chan´s blog 3: The Mosquitoes

This is an article about mosquitoes. This article was very interesting because it talked about mosquitoes and talks about what if mosquitoes disappear? And would anyone or anything miss them? I´m going to talk about some informations of mosquitoes first.
Mosquitoes have been on Earth for 100 million years and there are 3,500 named species of mosquito. Mosquitoes live in almost every place. Mosquitoes infects at least 247million people worldwide each year, and they also kill one million people. Mosquitoes spreads lots of diseases like yellow fever, dengue fever, Japanese encephalitis, Rift Valley fever, Chikungunya virus and West Nile virus.
Mosquitoes consume up to 300 millilitres of blood a day from from each animal in caribou herd. Mosquitoes are delectable to eat and they are easy to catch.
In this article they said that if mosquitoes disappear it would be bad because they serve important functions in numerous ecosystems and they said wiping species of mosquito could leave a predator. And I also think that mosquitoes are not all that bad. They may spread diseases but they also help us too. So if you want to see informations of mosquitoes go look in this link http://www.nature.com/news/2010/100721/full/466432a.html

Yu Chan´s blog 2: The volcano explosion in mexico

I liked this article so much because the villagers in Popocatepetl were damaged their houses or themselves because of the 2nd tallest volcano located in Puebla. They say this volcano´s explosion was like a rocket and because of this about 4.5 million got damaged. When this volcano exploded the incandescent fragments in the blast fell 2 kilometers from the crater. The ash after this explosion had blown up to 4 kilometers into the air. This explosion in this volcano broke the record for the most volcanic emissions in one day. This name Popocatepetl originates from the native Mexican Nahuatl language and it means smoking mountain.
Go to this site if you want to see this volcano in this village called Popocatepetl http://rt.com/news/popocatepetl-volcano-explosion-mexico-849/
